Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Others Needed Short-term
I am the CEO of Mustard Seed Global (MG - www.mustardseedglobal.org). The World Bank has invited MG to partner in providing HIV-AIDS education, testing and treatment as well as nutrition guidance to communities of rural cocoa farmers (attention chocolate lovers). We will also deliver a raft of community-building programs, empower rural churches and their leaders to declare the good news in Christ and deepen their spiritual life, pray for the sick, and plant churches.
The World Bank partnership agreement is being put together as I write. The partnership means initially one additional purpose-fitted mobile HIV-AIDS clinic, and eventually several more in different regions of PNG. Each clinic will be equipped with two trained nurses and a pastor fulfilling the role of Community Life Officer, and will be official dispensaries of antiretroviral drugs.
PNG is struggling to provide health care with shockingly inadequate hospital services, lurking HIV-AIDS, one of the highest infant mortality rates and maternal death rates in the world, resurgent TB and malaria, and a ratio of 1 doctor for over 17,000 people. We envision a network of mobile clinics (mobile operating rooms for simple surgery is being considered) offering powerful and creative ways of serving people for Christ's pleasure and providing opportunities to advance God's kingdom.
MG will be looking for doctors, nurses, midwives and others who can deliver relevant programs and join ministry teams for short-terms visits to support our mobile clinics. PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE OR CHECK OUR WEBSITE
